    How a data license works

    About 2 to 3 months

    1. Day 1

      Call

We work out together what buyers would want from your data.

    2. Week 1

      Go-ahead

You confirm by email that we can present your company to the shortlisted buyers.

    3. Weeks 1–4

      Offers

Buyers give a price range, then make an offer.

    4. End of month 1

      Decision

You compare the offers and choose: one exclusive license, several, or none.

    5. Start of month 2

      Signing and export

You sign with the buyer, who exports and pseudonymizes the data.

    6. Month 3

      Payment

The buyer pays you 30 to 60 days after accepting the data.

    Who sees what

    Your company

Keeps the originals and approves what the copy covers.

The copy, limited to what you approved

    The buyer

Pseudonymizes the data and signs a data processing agreement.

    Paleon

Sees a description of your company and the offers. Never the data.

    The terms at a glance

    Cost to you
Nothing, at any stage. The buyer you choose pays us, and only if you sign.
    What you grant
A limited license to a copy. Your originals stay with you.
    Exclusions
You can leave out HR or legal files, or sensitive clients.
    Your name
We only share it with a buyer if you agree.
    Withdrawing
Any time before you sign, at no cost.

Whether your company is running or closing, its data has value

A company that’s closing can still sell its data, as long as the records exist. Write to us before you cancel your subscriptions (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace…). Once the records are deleted, there is nothing left to sell.
